Quantity Surveyor
Location: : Hong Kong - Overseas
Rate: Neg (Permanent) + Negotiable

Quantity Surveyor Job vacancy on on the major MTR 'West Island Line'; a major rail tunnelling & civil engineering project in Hong Kong.
A number of Hong Kong based Quantity Surveyors are now required for major new tunnelling and rail related civil engineering projects now awarded.
Initial project focus is on tunnelling, in particular tunnelling relating to the use of TBMs and related earthworks.
The West Island Line MTR project will run until 2014 and includes in total, the construction of Hong Kong University and Sai Ying Pun Stations and a 2.2 kilometre running tunnel. The project will extend the existing Island Line from Sheung Wan to Kennedy Town.

Quantity Surveyor Based in Hong Kong - Job Duties:

To assist the Senior/Project Quantity Surveyor on new project awards relating to major civil engineering/tunnelling projects.
To monitor & report on the costs relating to each relevant section of works, including the TBM contract, earthworks etc.

Quantity Surveying Qualifications & Experience Required for this Quantity Surveyor Role in Hong Kong:

It is essential that applicants have a relevant professional qualification (BSc Quantity Surveying, MRICS, MInst CES, HKIS etc. or equivalent)
Candidates must also have experience with a major civil engineering main contractor or sub contractor relating to tunnelling, earthworks, piling or major projects.
Previous experience of a Quantity Surveying role in Hong Kong is desirable but is not essential
Experience of working internationally on major civil engineering contracts is highly desirable or on a major project in Hong Kong or in the UK.
