Risk Manager – Consultancy – Surrey – up to £60,000

In this pivotal role, you will bolster business-as-usual activities while also diving deep into a corporate team dedicated to transforming project delivery and sparking business innovation. This is a unique opportunity to meld your expertise in modern digital tools, processes, and strategic behaviours to magnify value to customers, ensuring projects are not only managed effectively for risks but are also continuously improved for outstanding results.

What We Need From You:

Experience: A solid background in project controls and risk management, ideally within defence or the nuclear sector, coupled with expertise in setting up and running sophisticated schedule and cost risk models using tools like Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, or Crystal Ball.

Technical Skills: Proficient in problem-solving and various risk management techniques such as three-point estimates and Monte Carlo simulations. Familiarity with planning and scheduling software like Primavera 6 and MS Project would be advantageous.

Educational Background: Relevant academic (e.g., BSc/MSc) or vocational qualifications (HNC/HND) in a related field.

Role Responsibilities:

Visionary Leadership: Inspire change and innovation across multiple business levels, advocating for a risk-aware culture that supports our strategic objectives.

Innovation Advocacy: Develop and refine open innovation practices to enhance the quality of processes through risk-based tools and techniques. Ensure that the introduction of new digital tools not only meets but exceeds our qualitative and quantitative monitoring standards.

Enterprise Risk Management: Establish and maintain a robust risk management framework. You will play a crucial role in reviewing and approving innovative initiatives, adapting swiftly to market and business dynamics.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leaders across business, risk, and management functions to navigate complex and critical business initiatives. Your role will be key in shaping the firm’s approach to novel risks.

Operational Excellence: Coordinate risk management plans, facilitate workshops, develop mitigation strategies, and provide comprehensive reports. You will ensure the consistency of documentation and promote risk management practices across all project stages.

Educational Influence: Empower project teams by training and coaching them in understanding and applying the risk management framework effectively.
