Lead Electrical Design Engineer 
Location: Peterborough 
Rate/Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

We are looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to join a renowned name in the yachting industry, known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and luxury. As part of our continuous evolution.

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for fulfilling all electrical engineering requirements to support the delivery of New Product Introduction (NPI), custom requests, facelift programs, and production support initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities of the Lead Electrical Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer:

•        Lead the Electrical Design team, guiding all new product initiatives and providing support for existing products      
•        Produce comprehensive drawings for production, including detailed technical schematics and routing, facilitating efficient manufacturing by internal teams and           external contractors.      
•        Create drawings and specifications for component procurement and manufacturing, liaising with internal purchasing, external suppliers, and production teams.      
•        Engage in DFMA activities to optimize production implementation, and conduct testing both in-house and at sea for new products.    
•        Ensure compliance with marine standards and regulatory requirements, including RCD, MCA, IMO, and classification authorities' specifications    
•        Work with other departments to align component design with cost targets and production expectations, and coordinate with the production line to address           design-related issues.
•         Attend various meetings and support Design For Manufacture and Assembly reviews, including necessary testing activities

Qualifications and requirement for the Lead Electrical Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer:

•          Degree-level qualification required.    
•          Design and practical experience in the yachting sector is desirable  
•          Experience with PLM    

•          Must be able to travel to work in Peterborough
