  Role Purpose

MDE are recruiting for a Logistics Planner to manage the on-time delivery of incoming raw materials/subcomponents, internal manufacturing processes, and finished products to meet customer requirements. The role requires interface with customers, external suppliers, internal stakeholders, and external accreditation bodies such as BSI.

Role Summary:
  • Create and expedite customer purchase orders and future schedules
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal functions to ensure on-time, in-full delivery of materials and components in accordance with material lead-times
  • Work closely with Group Purchasing to manage supplies for contract-related bulk materials
  • Define, manage and communicate production schedules to meet customer requirements
  • Monitor and report adherence to plan (ATP) and internal/external supplier On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) and quality performance
  • Plan for AGV and despatch operations
  • Manage stock levels in accordance with customer demands and targets, including agreed levels of finished goods and raw materials
  • Oversee the supply and return loop for packaging (tote boxes) and escalate potential supply disruptions

Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive sector/high-volume manufacture
  • Experience in procurement and planning for raw materials and internal production, with knowledge of purchasing processes
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural negotiator
  • Ability to monitor and report internal/external supplier performance against defined KPIs
  • Proficiency in IT data entry and use of ERP/MRP systems, as well as customer web portals
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Understanding of IATF16949 and ISO standards, including ISO9000, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO50001, as well as health, safety, and environmental practises
  • A good understanding of cost and financial impacts
  • Full driving licence preferred
