Job Title - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary - 50-60K Basic plus overtime

Location - North East

Nicholas Associates(Engineering & Technical) are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an Oil and Gas equipment manufacturer in the North East.

As part of increasing long term contract requirements, they are looking to add to their mechanical design team with an enthusiastic engineer with a solid mechanical engineering background of 10 or more years.

This is the ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to step up and join a financially secure global business. This role boasts both challenge and variety in a cradle to grave role.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead a team from a technical point of view

- Coordinating designed and development

- 3D CAD design and drawing interpretations.

- Engineering Calculations

- Liaison with test, production and supply chain

- Bill of Materials, illustrations, design layouts and reports.

- Sourcing of materials

Required Skills

- Mechanical design principles and understanding

- Strong ability to learn and improve skill sets and knowledge

- CAD and engineering drawing skills

- Understanding of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, valves etc is advantageous

- IT literacy

- Communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
