Role: CAD Technician

Location: Oldbury

Hours of work: 07:30 – 16:00 Monday – Friday

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Per Annum

Wentworth James Group are currently seeking an experienced CAD Technician on behalf of our design & manufacturing customer based in Oldbury. You will be responsible for tooling and nesting for Amada Turret Punch machines, producing customer drawings and assembly drawings and re-engineering existing designs.

Duties of the role:

• Tooling and nesting for Amada Turret Punch machines
• Re-engineer existing designs to meet requirements within budget.
• Produce detailed manufacturing and customer drawings and assembly drawings, bills of materials.
• Produce a design which meets the product requirements utilising Radan.
• Develop prototypes where necessary.
• Liaising with production and sales departments
• Working closely with the Technical manager and production support
• Update and archive department documents, files etc.

Candidate Requirements:

• Knowledge of Radan / AutoCAD
• Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal process
• Experience of tooling and nesting
• Ability to create clear and thorough reports, procedures and guidance documents.
• Microsoft Office Software, particularly Word and Excel
• Good organisational and planning skills sufficient to plan own time and workload to ensure that deadlines and timescales are met.
