The Buyer Role:

• Oversee and manage selected categories to ensure supply and demand is efficient
• Build excellent relationships with Suppliers to optimise performance and reduce costs
• Manage quotations, purchase orders and expediting activity to ensure SLA’s are achieved
• Coordinate and manage deliveries, inventory and costs with an emphasis on quality. Ensuring to take action on changes in demand, inventory level and supply issues
• Ensure MRP systems are modified, maintained and updated regularly, ensuring attention to detail with information recorded
• Support the Supply Chain Department with operating smoothly and assist with enquires as and when required from internal and external sources
• Work towards the Departmental and wider business objectives, ensuring driving continuous improvement at all times

You’ll Need:

• Previous experience of operating within a Procurement or Supply Chain appointment
• CIPS qualified or working towards
• A proactive approach with the ability to use own initiative to drive tasks completion
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability influence, negotiate and liaise with internal and external personnel
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and demands
• Proficient in Microsoft packages and MRP Systems
• Experience of working in a Continuous Improvement environment
• Problem solving skills and a solution provider
• Previous experience of operating in an engineering or manufacturing environment would be advantageous
