Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their existing team in Plymouth (hybrid working) on a contract basis.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer you will work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to provide an overall sustainment capability for the Devonport Dockyard. Your responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:

  • Support the management of the structural engineering elements of the new buildings, ensuring designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses. Provide Subject Matter Expert advice for structural engineering
  • Provide Technical design guidance and review of structural design packages
  • Provide Technical design guidance and review integration of structural designs with other design packages
  • Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget

You

To succeed within the role of a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • A minimum of a Batchelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
  • Seismic Design (preferable)
  • Management of sub-contractors/consultant
  • Preferred Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
