Position: Aftermarket Service Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
As our Aftermarket Service Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for conducting on-site servicing and testing of our product range, ensuring compliance, and assisting in generating new sales. Your duties will include:
- Conducting annual on-site servicing of all relevant Extract Technology Containment product range.
- Performing airflow testing, calibration of pressure and velocity devices, DOP testing, particle testing, and electrical fault finding.
- Maintaining allocated test equipment, ensuring calibration is current, and certification is available for issue to clients.
- Working within the parameters of the company production schedule and within customers' shutdown periods.
- Ensuring all sales prospects and inquiries are professionally relayed back to the office for effective processing.
- Actively promoting after-sales growth through new spares, service, and upgrade inquiries.
- Participating in other areas of the business, such as relocations and upgrade work.
This role involves frequent travel and working away from home, mainly within the UK with occasional overseas travel. The successful candidate must be able to work under their own discipline while also effectively collaborating with the larger team. A valid driving license is essential, and maintaining a company van in compliance with legal requirements is necessary. Additionally, staying updated with technological developments and contributing to the ongoing development of the business, its people, and processes are vital aspects of this role.
Person Specification:
Essential Attributes:
- Experience in airflow testing, filter integrity testing, calibrations, and promoting new sales.
- Engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualifications.
- Good communication skills, ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, high level of customer service skills, expert timekeeping.
- Experience working in an engineering environment.
- HND/HNC or qualifications in testing, DOP, particle counting, and airflows.
- Awareness of equality issues, commercial awareness in accordance with company procedures, health and safety regulations, cGMP, containment solutions, and computer literacy.
- Role involves working away from home for periods of time, and a van is issued for business use.
