My client is based in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside of south Gloucestershire. They offer a hybrid working arrangement to suit you and the business. For example: 2 days in the office (accommodation paid if not commutable from home base), 3 days home.
You will play a pivotal role in my client's Surface Treatments Operation. You will provide your expertise within the following market sectors of the aerospace industry: aerostructures, landing gear, brakes, aero engines and avionics (aerospace experience is desirable, but not a requirement).
Your main task will be to interpret customer requirements and ensure that production teams have clear instructions and a point of reference and guidance to ensure total customer satisfaction.
The Technical Engineer will support the business by carrying out the following:
- Interpretation of Customer Requirements
- Creation of Data Cards and other technical documents for Surface Treatment Processes
- Actively support the Surface Treatment Teams with guidance and support in a "hands on" capacity when needed.
Job responsilbilties:
- The timely creation of Surface Treatment Data Cards
- Support Commercial and business development teams with technical interpretation of customer demand
- Work with the Quality team to ensure Audit Compliance and actively participate in customer and 3rd Party Audits
- Manage and deliver specific assigned projects and objectives
- Contribute to a safety-first culture in all actions.
Job requirements:
- At least 4 years direct experience working in a technical capacity within a Surface Treatment Organisation
- Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Safety Focused
- Competent with Microsoft Office
- Confident Communicator
Desirable skills:
- Experience of working in an Aerospace AS9100 – NADCAP approved facility
- Formal Training / Membership of a recognised Surface Treatment E.g. Institute of Materials Finishing
- Recognized Risk Assessment and/or IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent
- May include very infrequent travel to group facilities outside of the UK.
