My client is based in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside of south Gloucestershire. They offer a hybrid working arrangement to suit you and the business. For example: 2 days in the office (accommodation paid if not commutable from home base), 3 days home.

You will play a pivotal role in my client's Surface Treatments Operation. You will provide your expertise within the following market sectors of the aerospace industry: aerostructures, landing gear, brakes, aero engines and avionics (aerospace experience is desirable, but not a requirement).

Your main task will be to interpret customer requirements and ensure that production teams have clear instructions and a point of reference and guidance to ensure total customer satisfaction.

The Technical Engineer will support the business by carrying out the following:

  • Interpretation of Customer Requirements
  • Creation of Data Cards and other technical documents for Surface Treatment Processes
  • Actively support the Surface Treatment Teams with guidance and support in a "hands on" capacity when needed.

Job responsilbilties:

  • The timely creation of Surface Treatment Data Cards
  • Support Commercial and business development teams with technical interpretation of customer demand
  • Work with the Quality team to ensure Audit Compliance and actively participate in customer and 3rd Party Audits
  • Manage and deliver specific assigned projects and objectives
  • Contribute to a safety-first culture in all actions.

Job requirements:

  • At least 4 years direct experience working in a technical capacity within a Surface Treatment Organisation
  • Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
  • Safety Focused
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • Confident Communicator

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of working in an Aerospace AS9100 – NADCAP approved facility
  • Formal Training / Membership of a recognised Surface Treatment E.g. Institute of Materials Finishing
  • Recognized Risk Assessment and/or IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent
  • May include very infrequent travel to group facilities outside of the UK.
