We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Projects Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising multi-discipline engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and efficient completion within budget, timescale, and quality standards.

In addition to the above, key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking project engineering tasks including definition, specification, resource and planning management, design, costing, finance control, procurement, reporting, contractor and vendor liaison, quality assurance, document management, and handover.
  • Assisting in implementing safe working practices and ensuring compliance with construction process health and safety guidance and legislation.
  • Leading and supporting infrastructure and facility maintenance, development, and improvement projects, following a structured engineering project process.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sharing best practice with peers.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to other engineers, technicians, and production staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with approved technical and management processes.
  • Actively promoting and embedding Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles in all work activities.

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering discipline or a related field from a recognised institution, plus experience of engineering project management within the process industries.
  • Experience in project engineering specification, including the ability to create detailed technical documentation and project plans.
  • Working knowledge and experience of process safety, hazard and risk assessment as well as construction management and environmental control.
  • Awareness of design and operational guidance and legislation, e.g. CD(M), ATEX, DSEAR, PED, PSSR, etc..
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Familiar and proficient with typical project management planning and modelling software tools.

Desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, physical properties and flow measurement
  • Professional certification such as Chartered Engineer status from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) would be desirable.
