Snr Electrical Design Engineer - based Oxford.
Reporting to the Lead Electrical Control Engineer you are responsible for design LV distribution and control systems for bespoke machines which are utilized within a production/manufacturing environment.
" Produce single line and schematic diagrams using Solidworks electrical
" Provide electrical calculations where appropriate
" Hardware and cable selection from Company system library
" Create and maintain documentation for project technical file
" Work with mechanical design department to produce panel layouts and wiring routes
" Interpret customer supplied technical documentation to devise integration solutions
" PLC program design, implementation and testing
" Design functional safety systems (PLC or hardwired)
" Create machine test documentation for set-to-work folder
" Contribute to the content of user operation manuals
" Electrical fault finding
" Electrical safety testing
" Provide technical assistance to service engineering team
" Work within and contribute to the company's ISO9001 quality management system
" Liaise with shop-floor to ensure machines are built to appropriate Company standards
" Assist in commissioning of machines
" Any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position.

Knowledge and skills required:
"Relevant technical qualification in electrical engineering, e.g. Degree/ HND
"Proven track record of delivering electrical distribution and control systems for special purpose machinery to relevant international directives
"Sound knowledge of electrical CAD software, ideally Solidworks electrical, but other packages considered, e.g. AutoCAD electrical, Eplan
"PLC programming/coding experience - preferably Allen Bradley
"Understanding of EMC requirements and methods to comply
"Able to carry out electrical safety testing
" Sound understanding of CNC systems
" Experience of industrial bus systems and connectivity
" Working knowledge of IEC and UL standards
" Good understanding of relevant standards for functional safety systems
" Able to work to project schedules and deadlines
" Able to adopt a hands-on approach to engineering
" Able to manage own time effectively and engage with multiple departments
" Able to work to own initiative
" Experience of understanding machine applications

" Eagerness to learn and develop
" Able to stay calm and think logically under pressure
