A long-established UK manufacturer for over 100 years, offering both design and production of precision engineered parts and components to companies across the world.
Registered to AS9100 Rev D, ISO9001 2008 and Nadcap special purpose EDM machining, specialising in the Aerospace, Defence and Commercial sectors.
Coupled with an "in-house" design and technical department for prototype development and manufacture of systems and assemblies.
Job Profile
As the successful CNC Miller, your main function will be to program, set up and operate CNC and manual Milling machines.
Duties:
- Programming, Setting, and Operating 3 and 4 axis CNC Mills / Machining Centres.
- Set and operate Manual Mills.
- Machining to fine tolerances, ensuring components are produced to the highest standards as per specifications and drawings.
- Produce first-off components for inspection.
- Inspect components during production to ensure drawing / spec requirements are maintained.
- Interpret operations sheets, drawings, sketches, and CAD to program and set up parts.
- Clean and undertake preventative maintenance of machines.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing activities where required.
Skills & Attributes:
- Experience with programming, setting and operating Fanuc, Mazatrol and manual Milling machines.
- Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Be able to use a wide range of different measuring devices and inspection techniques.
- Familiar with Aerospace AS9100D requirements would be an advantage.
- Able to work as part of a team and assist others where required.
Hours of Work:
- 39 hours a week
- 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1pm on Fridays
