Installations Engineer

Location: London & Home Counties (Remote)
Salary Range: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum (plus bonuses and commissions)

Job Profile
As a Installation Engineer, your main functions will be to attend Residential and Commercial sites to install and commission fire and security systems.
You will be working remotely, covering the London and Home-Counties area in a Field Service role.

Duties:

  • Attend both residential and commercial sites installing & commissioning intruder, fire, CCTV, and entry / access control systems (cross training will be provided on areas that you do not have experience in).
  • Daily work will include installing devices & control equipment, running cable and containment, programming, working with full suite of products and communication devices, using electric tools, laptop and working at height.
  • Work well within a team or individually to achieve the best possible standards, ensuring that the targets are always met.
  • Carry out all work to Company's high standards and in compliance with NSI Gold regulations.
  • Communicate with the Installations Desk, keeping on top of daily and weekly schedule and ensuring your time is managed efficiently.
  • Undertake independent work, which may involve commissioning, demonstration and handover of systems.
  • Partake in on-going training to develop your individual engineering skills and continuous improvement of technical ability.
  • You will be expected to learn and train on new technologies and disciplines.
  • Be customer focused and fully committed to improving the quality of service to all customers, maintaining the company's name and reputation.
  • Progression available, moving into Senior Engineering positions.
  • Expected to participate in out of hours call-out rota, covering weekends and bank holidays when needed. This will be in addition to your normal working week.



Hours of Work:

  • 40hrs a week
  • 8am to be at first job for 8.30am - finish 5.30pm with an hours break.


Skills & Attributes:

  • Good technical knowledge and engineering skills.
  • Aptitude in fault finding.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service focused.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.


Essential Qualifications:

  • 5 years plus industry experience.
  • Multi-disciplined with experience in intruder alarms as a minimum requirement.
  • Full UK driving license.


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of a range of intruder alarm equipment.
  • Knowledge of a range of Fire alarm equipment.
  • Knowledge of a range of Access control equipment.
  • Knowledge of a range of CCTV equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical components such as relays and resistors, as well as ability to read multi-meters, continuity meters etc and be able to take and record readings.
