Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: East Midlands
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 +per annum
Employment Type: Full-time, Site-based, Hands on opportunity within the engineering team – facing issues daily requiring a solution focused individual, Degree, HNC, HND, experience in LEAN processes

Our client is a market leader in the Rolling Stock industry, offering a wide range of services including overhaul, repair, maintenance, and new build. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to sustainable and efficient practices, they are looking for a dynamic and motivated Production Engineer to join their team in Yorkshire.
 
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the production process, planning and organising production schedules
- Getting hands dirty (in manner of speaking) providing on the spot solutions
- Assessing project and resource requirements
- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
- Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- Liaising with buyers and marketing and sales, increase quality customer service.
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm
Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (plus 8 bank holidays)
 
About You
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Experienced in LEAN, SIX SIGMA, production methods
- Good knowledge and experience of working to and writing SOP’s
- VMI experienced
- Experience working in the Rail industry is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing and improving production processes
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations
- Excellent problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong team player
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills – Office suite etc – ideally Oracle, EFAX and sage
- Chartered engineer ideal but not necessary
