Our client has been established for more than 35 years and are recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of electrical cabling and connection solutions for supply throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2023 and beyond, are now looking to recruit an experienced, hands-on and proactive Process Improvement Technician to complement their professional and successful manufacturing team.

Reporting to the Design and Technical Manager, the Process Improvement Technician will be responsible for working within the core values of the business, understanding company objectives as a whole and striving to meet or exceed the KPIs and metrics.

Initially tasked with reviewing current processes in order to identify any areas of improvement utilising your understanding of lean principles and problem-solving tools, you will identify and eliminate waste and assist in providing detailed plant expenditure proposals using project management tools (Planner) to drive and sustain continuous improvement activities.

Able to undertake Hands-on accurate data collection and problem solving within a manufacturing environment and liaising with engineers and coordinators to support operatives and processes, you will issue relevant documentation and implement staff training on new procedures to improve efficiencies and ensure competency.

Other responsibilities will include evaluating existing manufacturing processes, researching, designing and developing solutions to increase efficiency, reduce down time, waste and scrap, and resolving quality issues of product capability, surface finish, and shape related issues to ensure consistent repeatable processes and product quality.

Working with the coordinators and operatives to implement new machines and procedures, you will undertake site and buildings layout and design tasks, analysing and planning workflow, personnel movement, space requirements and equipment layout, generating and maintaining Work Instructions relating to plant and processes and contacting and maintaining relationships with vendors for equipment and solutions.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Coleshill based Process Improvement Technician role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 2+ years in a Process Improvement role along with proven Project Management skills and experience. With comprehensive experience of lean manufacturing processes and realistically qualified to a Level 3 Technician in an appropriate Engineering related field, you will also be a confident user of the Microsoft Office suite products with an appreciation of AutoCAD.

With experience of working in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment you will be a Continuous improvement advocate (PDCA) with keen problem-solving skills and a genuine desire to deliver results and communicate with impact. You will enjoy making a personal difference and demonstrate the ability to diagnose and define problems, measure/collect data, establish facts and analyse data, determine root cause, select and implement solutions and control/sustain outcomes, so will be data driven, with a fastidious approach and capable of critical thinking to make solid decisions.
