Still family owned and run, Avanti Conveyors has evolved from simply fabricating conveyoring systems, to manufacturing and supplying high quality precision equipment, state-of-the-art software and intuitive control systems for materials handling equipment specifically for the global corrugated packaging market. Due to continuing growth in the business they are now seeking a Design Engineer to be part of the ongoing success of Avanti Conveyors.

Avanti Conveyors are based in Furness Vale in a converted dye mill set on the edge of the village close to the Peak Forest Canal. They are positioned within walking distance of Furness Vale train station and a short walk from bus routes. Please note that the role is currently based at Furness Vale but will be moving to Glossop later this year.

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:

To work as part of the design team, supporting all new and existing products using AutoCAD Inventor. Perform site surveys and ensure accuracy translating information into 2D plant layout. Supporting release documentation, working with bills of material, tracking changes and updating revision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Detailing Drawings on 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor.
• Perform Site Surveys.
• Maintaining engineering release documentation and records. 
• Supporting purchasing, manufacturing and installation.

PERSONAL PROFILE:

• Mechanical and electrical design background ideally (but mechanical design is essential) within a materials handling environment.
• Preferably 5 years’ experience in AutoCAD (essential) and Inventor (preferred)
• Site Survey experience on large scale projects.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Clear communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
