Mechanical Engineer - FMCG

Rotating days and nights 12 hour shifts 

Overview

This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer or mechanical fitter to join a growing company. As a Mechanical engineer, you will be joining an experienced a stable team in a challenging, yet supportive environment. The role will be varied on a daily basis with a focus on ensuring machine availability and minimising downtime. 

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer

  • Proactive maintenance and site PMs
  • Reactive maintenance and responding to breakdowns quickly
  • Working across mechanical faults and maintenance
  • Ensuring production lines are operational and minimising downtime.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements covering both processes machine output
  • Adhering to site Health & safety rules and legislation on site

Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer

  • Time-served / recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject
  • Experience working in a maintenance engineer role previously, ideally in a similar industry
  • Ability to and experience of working to a fast pace, ideally confident in a manufacturing environment.
