An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Centre Manager in the Automotive industry. Our client, a leading company in the sector, is seeking a motivated individual to join their team. This is a permanent position with excellent benefits.



Job purpose


As an active member of the Plant management team and Product Engineering organisation, you will be responsible for leading the site interface for supporting functions to PE directors, Chiefs, teams, and site functions (finance, HR, etc.). Your role will involve enabling the development of products and systems to the required cost, performance, and quality targets, while ensuring flawless product launches and customer programs. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the Technical Centre teams have the operational tools and resources to execute their activities effectively, focusing on continuous development and improvement plans to maximize team efficiency and competency.
In this role, you will deploy corporate targets and define Technical Centre targets to support their achievement. You will review, support, and track plans within the Technical Centres, cascading information to team members and providing feedback to senior management, including escalation of non-resolved issues.

  • Deliver projects on time
  • Publish clear project delivery planning
  • Develop and realize benefits from synergies team to team and site to site
  • Eliminate waste


Cost:

  • High focus on utilizing our broad skill set to develop and implement best cost development facilities for the FS business
  • Deliver the budget
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities
  • Plan and manage the engineering budget


Experience required


Essential

  • 5+ years of experience working in Engineering/Manufacturing
  • Ability to manage a large number of projects/topics in parallel
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplined teams
  • Demonstrated leadership in operational situations
  • Experience of Team management across different sites and countries
  • Demonstrated experience working with customers and presenting at Director level
  • Ability to work in multi-functional teams (including but not limited to ME, purchasing, business operations) to meet company business objectives
  • Understanding of business (budgets, ROI, markets, customers, business forecasts)
  • Experience in budget forecast and management
  • Availability for traveling (customers, suppliers, PHINIA sites)


Desirable

  • Knowledge of fuel injection systems and products, IC engines, and applications
