THE OPPORTUNITY:
Due to continued growth, my client needs a Technical Services Engineer with good electrical competence and understanding, hands-on experience supporting industrial machinery, plant and equipment and strong customer facing skills. You will be a keen engineer who might have done an electrical apprenticeship or similar in a manufacturing / industrial environment and will be looking to spread your wings.
The role will include work at the companies site, some UK and some overseas travel to visit customers - please ask for further information.
This would suit an advanced Electrical Apprentice, Maintenance / Technical Support Engineer, or FAT / Commissioning Engineer looking for a personal development opportunity who would enjoy a varied role with positive customer interaction and technical challenges, working as part of a customer facing engineering team and independently at times after product training.
THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers from the office / workshop base as well as visiting customers in the UK, Europe and occasionally further afield to undertake factory acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, diagnostic and service work.
This will include:
- Customer technical support by phone, email and video.
- Off site and on site fault finding / diagnosis, problem solving and service work.
- Preparation, installation, commissioning and on-going support of equipment and bespoke turn-key projects.
- Providing responsive advice and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance (after product training).
CANDIDATE:
To apply you will need:
- A good electro-mechanical electrical background with experience of industrial electrical systems. An interest in PLC controls and control systems technology would be good.
- Able to work safely and methodically.
- Solid hands-on technical, problem solving and fault find / repair skills.
- Ability to read and understanding technical information and drawings.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach over the phone / email and when working with customers on-site.
- Installation and commissioning experience in industrial environments.
A current passport and full UK driving license. You will enjoy full product training and a varied and interesting workload interacting with a wide range of customers.
